Goals
Aimed at a reading audience formed primarily by SUS health professionals, such as technicians,
nurses, doctors and health managers, the publication aims to foster discussions for the
improvement of public policies and for decision-making in the area of Collective Health.

Historic
Launched in 1994, BIS gained a technical-scientific profile in 1999, considered the base year for
counting the publication in volume and number. In 2009, BIS started to present a thematic nucleus
in each edition,in addition to other technical-scientific articles, written by researchers from
the different Research Nucleus of the Institute and other teaching and research institutions in
the area of Collective Health.
