Abstract

The increase in costs in the health industry is of worldwide interest. Part of this responsibility is attributed to the uncritical incorporation of technologies. The institutionalization of science and technology in the SUS dates from 2000, with the creation of the Department of Science and Technology (DECIT). Subsequently, the “Research Program for then Single Health System” is launched: shared health administration (PPSUS)”, with the objective of contributing to the increase in scientifi c and technological production in the health area, and reduce the regional inequalities in this sector. One stage of the PPSUS involves the follow up and evaluation of research through the analysis of project reports and holding Follow up and Evaluation seminars. This article analyzes the publishing of the results of the research funded by the PPSUS/SP from 2004 to 2007, with data present in the technical reports from the seminars held in 2008 and 2010. These seminars showed the possibility of dialog between researchers and administrators. However, as this is still an incipient activity in the State of São Paulo, there is still a long way to go to
strengthening the interaction between researchers and administrators, as carrying out science and decision making as particular forms of the researcher’s and administrator’s activities, in general, makes it diffi cult, or even impossible, to incorporate the knowledge acquired
