Abstract

The biomedical sciences are not neutral in valuative terms. This does not affect their objectivity, but requires greater care in the form of communication of their values, so that common sense wouldn’t be badly oriented because of the lack of information in relation to the “ought-to-be” of health. Biomedical values involve respect for life and should never serve as a discriminatory orientation for political, labor or social pourposes. Their social communication has as its main goal to expand citizens’ awareness by broad parameters of guidance about their own well-being and that of the others.
