Abstract
The Medicinal Plants Program of Pindamonhangaba established in the municipality since the 90’s, invested in the expansion of the list of phytotherapics from the year 2007. The municipality already had the REMUME (Municipal Drug List) elaborated and implemented and it contained other phytotherapics (calendula ointment, babosa ointment and guaco syrup). The demand that had arisen at the time coincided with the expansion of dental care, which occurred with expansion of Programa Brasil Sorridente including the Dental surgeon in the Family Health Program in the municipality of Pindamonhangaba and the creation of the Dental Speciality Center ( CEO ) ; and the need to include a medicine capable of treating oral affection. It was then chosen the titration of Tansagem as phytotherapics to be tested and approved after being introduced into the municipal health network.
