Inserção da acupuntura na Atenção Básica como tratamento terapêutico complementar das doenças crônicas

Abstract

Through the analysis of main reasons for appointments in health basic unities, it could be observed that 85 % of patients complained about chronic pain and, consequently, used to consume medication daily. Considering these data and aiming to improve the quality of life, health prevention, promotion and rehab, acupuncture was introduced in basic care as a complementary therapy for chronic pain. The experience showed itself relevant over sessions, pointing a decrease of medication consumption and the recovering of patients that previously used to have limitations in daily and basic actions.
