Abstract
The structure of the Department of Environmental Health Surveillance requires the dedication of public sector members, in particular, employees of the Department of Health. Thus, it was proposed a methodology capable of covering the main points to be observed in carrying out this task. Starting with the training and continued training of its members, through researches or meetings, through the structuring of a multi-professional team capable of dealing with environmental, epidemiological, sanitary issues and also related to human health, to the acquisition of technical instruments and to the creation of bibliographic database for research; thus providing the conditions for performing studies on contaminated areas of the municipality, collecting data in field and generating information that can articulate and guide the actions due between the competent bodies through discussion groups and the provision of data on federal programs.
