Vigilance Committee on Maternal, Children and Fetal deaths of the municipality of Garça/SP

Abstract

Currently the Committee of Maternal, Infant and Fetal Mortality, is composed of representatives of municipal health services. This training was necessary aiming at the payment of services, where the biggest beneficiary must be the patient. Therefore, the Committee works with the topic of prenatal care, where it all begins. The Committee reviews all cases of deaths investigated by nurses of the Family Health Strategy - ESF, based on the information and discussions about the case with filling the Summary form and with the conclusion and recommendations, classifying deaths as avoidable or unavoidable by checking whether there were failures. The function of the Committee is not to find those guilty for the deaths but identify gaps and develop proposals for the proper functioning of services and teamwork.
