Abstract

The Municipal Secretary of Health from Jundiaí, through the Center for Testing and Counseling (CTA) promoted in 2013 two celebratory events on December 1 – the World Day to Combat AIDS, in order to advise on the STD/AIDS and encourage solidarity with people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). The first event was held in partnership with the Project Preventive Actions at School. The roundtable discussion about education, health and [AIDS]zenship was held: youth participation in the fight against AIDS and various workshops that addressed topics such as sexual and reproductive rights; live and live with HIV/AIDS; gender and sexual diversity and STD/AIDS at school. The second event, moving solidarity: Jundiaí in the fight against AIDS, took place on December 1 in the Park of the City. It was an artistic-cultural meeting, which included a presentation of a flash mob composed of about 100 people. The event was filmed and released on social networks. Celebrating the World Day to Combat AIDS is critical to strengthen the commitment to defend the human rights of PLWHA and to the universal access to prevention and treatment.
