Abstract
Pharmaceutical care plays a leading role both in the public budget and in meeting the needs of SUS users. The importance of the control of inventory and dispensation, apart from promoting the best use of health resources, also covers the traceability of users, medicines and provided supplies. Upon diagnosis of the need for restructuring the pharmaceutical care sector in the municipality of Salto/SP, several modifications were made in order to improve the service provided to the population and optimization of human and financial resources, as the implementation of computerized system in the pharmacies of the basic network (Horus - Ministry of Health), training of employees in the sector, disqualification of the Program Right Dosage for better management of the resources, of the shopping logistics, of medicines and monitoring of incineration costs for expired validity, quantification of the measurements performed in glucometer devices of patients for supplying inputs, partnership with pharmacies accredited to the Program “Here there is a Popular Pharmacy” for disclosure of 12 free items of hypertension, diabetes and asthma and direction of SUS demand and the closure of the activities of the very unit of the Popular Pharmacy of the municipality, with the addition of items in the Remune - Municipal Register of Medicines.
