Therapeutic residences: a mental health challenge

Abstract

Investing in the humanization of long-term inpatients (at least 2 years) in psychiatric hospitals, the so-called “resident” patients, is to uphold their right to return to live in cities. Betting is believing in the victory of the other. Sustaining the humanization of
these “residents” is only possible when the teams are convinced of the potential that remains in each of these people, granting them
the respective hospital discharges, giving them back the right to come and go, giving them back their citizenship.
