Abstract

The Professional Improvement Program Higher Education (PAP) is a professional scholarship program for the health area maintained
by the government of the State of São Paulo, under the responsibility of the Secretary of State for Health, carried out by several institutions linked to the Unified Health System (SUS) and administered by the Administrative Development Foundation (FUNDAP). It has been defined as a lato-sensu postgraduate teaching modality focused on training for professional practice that integrates health services. The different programs offered to various professional categories are based on at the beginning
of in-service training, under supervision direct from qualified professionals.
