Abstract

After the entry into force of Resolution 196/96, concerning to ethical guidelines and standards for research carried out in human beings and the resulting constitution and functioning CONEP, new resolutions were issued dealing with special thematic
areas, provided for in item VIII. 4, c of Resolution 196/96. In this text I try to highlight some points of each of them that I
think are important for the general knowledge and reflection of people that make up or will make up the Committees of Research Ethics (CEPs). The first was Resolution 251/97 containing norms of research involving human beings to the area research theme with new drugs, medicines, vaccines and diagnostic tests.
