Abstract

The Lalonde Report “A New Perspective on Health of Canadians” of 1974 and the Ottawa Charter of 1986, promulgated at the First International
Conference on Health Promotion, were important documents that contributed, along with other factors, to discussions regarding some paradigms
in the field of health, in special emphasis on valuing health promotion, instead of to privilege, exclusively, the assistance area. In the In recent decades, the concept of health has been understood in a broader way and health problems such as due to several factors: lifestyle,
genetics and environment, thus enabling new ways of thinking and manage the health sector.
