Abstract
Despite the great advance that the SUS represents for health in Brazil, it is observed that the chronicity of the operating the public system, bureaucratization and phenomena that characterize situations of violence institutionalare present and require urgent actions to modify this condition. It is understood that institutional violence in
the area of health stems from social relationships marked by subjection of individuals. Relationships of control,
alienation and non-recognition of the subjectivities involved in the care practices were historically configuring a violence that favored - and was favored - a institutional structure characterized by rigidity hierarchical,
due to the absence of rights or recourse for the superior decisions, for a form of circulation of only downward
communication, due to lack of space institutional for the transforming word, due to the neglect with subjective
factors and by an authoritarian discipline.
