Abstract

The Leonor Mendes de Barros Maternity Hospital (HMLMB) is a traditional public institution in assistance,
teaching and research in the area of ​​women's health and the newborn. Lately, it has been investing in implementation of actions aimed at quality and humanization of services. This recent history begins with
the search for a management model able to deal with the intellectual potential that Casa Maternal has always had and, at the same time, raise its administrative standard. In other words, correcting the mismatch between the administration and the technical area (in particular, the clinical) highly qualified to fulfill its mission.
