Abstract

Brazil has a wide and complex network of federal and state institutions that finance projects individuals and
collectives for scientific research and technology in the country. The Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT), as an articulator of the Science and Technology in the country, is the main responsible in what refers
to the financing of actions, projects and people linked to scientific and technological research, in the areas public and private, although it counts with the participation of other ministries and institutions: governmental
and non-governmental. Regarding the research promotion scientific and technological stand out the following instances and initiatives: Federal development institutions in S&T, Programs of the Ministry of Science and
Technology, State Funds and Programs to Support S&T and the Sector Funds.
