Abstract

The perception of the need to formulate a Policy of Science and Technology at the Secretary of State for Health of São Paulo is not recent. has already been the subject of study carried out by Maria Isabel Rodrigues, consultant
for Pan American Health Organization, invited by the Secretary of State for Health Dr. João Yunes, in the period 1983-1986, and by the Coordinator of Technical Services (CST, current Coordination of the Institute of Health-CIP),
Prof. José da Rocha Carvalheiro, to cooperate with the Secretariat in the development of a proposal for health
research program.
