Abstract

We found that women over 35 years old of age are the ones that most prolonged the breast-feeding. Among the adolescents,
it was found a lower proportion of breastfed children for more than 1 year. The extension was noticed of breastfeeding a
little more pronounced in the normal deliveries. The women who did not receive information on prenatal care had a
prevalence breastfeeding for more than 1 year. There was also a higher prevalence of prolonged breastfeeding among women
who were born in the countryside.
