Abstract
The Family Health Program (PSF) is considered as an incremental SUS program. the bases of the program highlight that, unlike the model traditional, disease- and hospital-centered, PSF prioritizes actions to protect and promote health
of individuals and families, both adults as children, healthy or sick, so integral and continuous. Child care is a priority for the PSF. One of the related actions to the child's health is to encourage breastfeeding mother, an
important strategy for reducing infant morbidity and mortality, due to its protective effect against infectious
diseases, especially diarrhea and respiratory infections.
