Abstract
At the United Nations meeting in 2000 health professionals and scientists concluded that the breastfeeding is associated withan additional risk significant transmission of HIV from mother to mother child compared to not breastfeeding. Is well It is
known that this risk depends on clinical factors and may vary according to pattern and duration of breast-feeding. A recent
study in South Africa showed that exclusive breastfeeding in the first 3 months to live may lead to a lower risk of transmission
of HIV than mixed feeding or predominant.
