Luiz Roberto Barradas Barata

Abstract

Even before completing the Science course Doctors at Santa Casa de São Paulo, together with Professor
José da Silva Guedes, Luiz Roberto Barradas Barata began working in the professor Walter Leser, then
secretary of health, in disease epidemic control activities meningococcal disease, which in the 1970s constituted important public health problem in the state. After starting a career as a health professional, already in management of professor Adib Jatene, again with the Professor Guedes, Barradas worked on the preparation and implementation of the Metropolitan Health Project, which aimed to expand the network of units basic healthcare in the metropolitan region – which at that time was, in the state, the most deprived of this
type of assistance.
