The contribution of the Todos pela Saúde initiative to the SUS

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic was a historic milestone to the world in aspects as diverse as the challenges that imposed
themselves. There are historians and sociologists who consider that the health emergency founded the 21st century,
just as the First World War established previous one. We live in moments of deep sadness, insecurity and
hopelessness, all at the same time. In Brazil, in the midst of the tragedy, important portions of civil
society and the private sector organized to respond to gigantic adversity and its perverse social and economic
effects. In this context, the initiative Todos pela Health (TPS), possibly the greatest contribution of private
initiative to the public sector throughout history of the Unified Health System (SUS).
