Abstract
Communication is always an action that occurs within a context or even a social or psychosocial scenario, defined, among other attributes, for presenting a “language” of “social representations” that the individuals access for establishing contact with others. Within the Collective Health field, the task of leading the inhabitants of certain societies, collectivities or groups to contact and shelter ideas and/or practices that leverage rogress on the confrontation of the several angles inherent to the human sickening, remains a constant quest. Within this article, we aimed at presenting how the Discourse of the Collective Subject, as a technique of empirical research for the recovery of the collectivities thought, allows enlightening the researched social field, showing the universe of the differences and similarities among the conceptions and perspectives as to health and disease events of the social actors or collective subjects that inhabit thereon. Thus, the communication in health must operate within
a context of constant stress between the similar and the different, considering that the communicator, educator or health promoter, in order to understand the individuals who they interact with, should keep in mind that they are linked to the social representations due to gregarious instinct, for the necessity of collective identification and for realistic interests.
