Abstract
Considering the importance of water analysis for health, the present project aimed to analyze physicochemical and organoleptic parameters regarding chlorine, pH, turbidity, and other levels of the water coming out of taps in the city of Luiz Antônio and compares them to the reports provided by the Adolfo Lutz Institute in Ribeirão Preto SP. The students presented the routines of inspection, sample collection and quantitative analyzes carried out in the eld, and the importance and relevance for Public Health. Water samples were collected on trestles of the municipal water distribution network. The samples were analyzed in situ (pH, temperature and visual turbidity analysis) and also in the Laboratory of the Municipal School of Chemistry (chlorine content and presence of total and fecal coliforms). The work, besides the importance for the health of the population guaranteeing that the water of the municipality is distributed in order to guarantee the potability, without causing risks, also served as learning to the students of the Course of Technician in Chemistry who come to realize the importance of accompanying a large-scale chemical treatment beyond learning to go out to the eld for proper collection and packaging of the samples and chemical analyzes
