Abstract

The health work conditions and situations and their psychosocial repercussions, as well as the indication of actions to protect
and promote the health of workers were the objects of the seminar held at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), in
May 2012, under the name “Psychosocial repercussions and management of health work”, under the coordination of professors
Francisco Antônio de Castro Lacaz and Virginia Junqueira. Work forms workers and is formed by them; work can mean emancipation,
health and vitality, being a creative and creative action and, paradoxically, it can mean oppression, suffering and paralysis, in
its mechanical and alienated aspect.
