Abstract

The National Food and Nutrition Policy – PNAN, established by the Ministry of Health in 1999 (MS Ordinance No. 710 of 06/10/99),
prepared on from the concept of Food Security and Nutritional adopted in Brazil in 1986, on the occasion of of the First Conference on Food Security and Nutritional, facilitated the understanding of the importance of actions in
the Health sector that guarantee the diagnosis and monitoring of the nutritional situation for the health promotion, protection and recovery.
