Abstract

The concentration of calcium, magnesium, zinc, petassíum, iron and copper in the human hair was determined by atomic absorption spectrometry through the conventional flame method.
Hair samples were gathered at Vale da Ribeira, São Paulo, Brazil, where the population lives in an agrarian and littoral environment, away fram industrial centers, what makes it difficult to impute the presence of those metals to the intoxication and environment pollution. The interferences due to the mineralization chemical treatment of the samples were also studied.
