Abstract

The study evaluated the routine of Viral Hepatitis Laboratory of Central    Laboratory of Adolfo Lutz - IAL Central, coordinator of the State Network    Molecular Diagnostics of São Paulo, from March 2012 to March 2013. The    Central IAL meets the demand of Regions ABCD, Paraíba Valley, Ribeira Valley,    Franco da Rocha and capital attendances at Hospital São Paulo (Unifesp). The    tests included the quantification of HCV viral load (HCVQT) by Real Time PCR    and genotyping AbbottTM (HCVG) using the kit VersantTM HCV genotype Inno-    LiPA assay (Siemens). Were received and analyzed 7,377 samples in the period,    with 12.2% of applications were canceled, mainly by: improper registration,    sample quality, insufficient sample volume for testing. The tests performed, the    proportion of samples sent by the regions were: ABCD and São Paulo (50.9%),    Vale do Paraíba (26.3%), Campinas (8.6%), Botucatu (7.7% ), Franco da    Rocha (6.1%) and Vale do Ribeira (0.4%). The patients had a median age of 49    years and 57% were male. The most frequent genotype was one (1) to 71.3%.    Already HCVQT test showed median viral load of 3.28 log. (1,933.5UI/ml).    The average release time of examination was 16 days for HCVG and 12 for    HCVQT. The results obtained allowed to know the molecular epidemiology of    the regions served by the IAL and reinforced the importance of the Network in    the treatment of those infected. In addition, the failures observed emphasize the    role of the Central IAL to guide and coordinate the participating laboratories of    the Molecular Diagnostic Network.
