Abstract
The Regional Laboratory Center of the Adolfo Lutz Institute - São José do Rio Preto - X (CLR-SJRP - X), located in the Regional Health Department XV area, participated in the implementation program of rapid and Elisa tests for the detection of NS1 antigen. Regarding technical implementation, BIO-RAD - Dengue NS1 Ag STRIP kit (rapid test) and Panbio Early for Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (Elisa-NS1) were used, which results were immediately sent by e-mail. Reactive samples for NS1 were sent to Central IAL -SP for virus isolation. Between March 2009 and March 2011, 788 samples were analyzed by rapid test and 9,270 by Elisa, with 166 (25,7%) and 4,449 (47,9%) positive samples, respectively. Viral isolation was possible in 26 municipalities with 93,7% positives for serotype 1. The number of samples analyzed and the quick obtained results, contributed to optimize and expand dengue surveillance.
