Resumo

Os autores descrevem detalhadamente a produção de "interferon" a partir de membranas cório-alantóides infectadas com as estirpes A1/Denver/1/57, A2/Japan/305/57 do vírus de influenza e com o vírus vacínico. Cada partida de "interferon" foi precipitada com sulfato de amônio e reprecipitada com acetona. O pó obtido foi dissolvido em meio de Earle de tal forma que 0,1 ml continha 75 gamas de "interferon". Em culturas de embrião de galinha, foi observada inibição do efeito citopático pelos vírus homólogos e heterólogos.
