Resumo
A possibilidade do emprego da reação de micro-hemaglutinação passiva, para a pesquisa de anticorpos para Treponema pallidum, foi examinada. A reação de micro-hemaglutinação passiva foi comparada com as reações de floculação, fixação de complemento e imunofluorescência indireta, em 344 soros distribuídos nos seguintes grupos: doadores de banco de sangue, indivíduos com suspeita clínica de sífilis, pacientes com diagnóstico clínico de sífilis, pacientes clinicamente curados e pacientes com outras doenças capazes de ocasionar reações falso-positivas. Em soros de doadores de banco de sangue foi verificada concordância de 100% entre as reações de imunofluorescência indireta e hemaglutinação passiva para sífilis, não se verificando o mesmo com as demais reações. No grupo dos doentes clinicamente diagnosticados, houve concordância total entre as quatro reações.
