Abstract
The authors study the effects of adrenal cortical hormones on the blood picture and on the production of antibodies, in the rabbit. The sub-cutaneous injection of 10 ml of aqueous adrenal cortical extracts produces an increase in the number of neutrophils (pseudo-eosinophils), and a decrease in the number of lymphocytes of the peripheral blood. There was no apparent effect on the production of antibodies, as revealed by the failure of the cortical hormones to increase the titer of aglutinative sera of rabbits previously immunized with bacterial antigens.
