Abstract
Soybean varieties cultivated in the State of São Paulo have shown severe attacks by root-knot nematodes. The study of the parasites showed that at least the following 4 species of them were present attacking the soybean roots: Meloidogyne javanica, M. arenaria, M. incognita and M. hapla. Variety La 41-1219 considered to be susceptible in Southern part of the United States, proved to be slightly resistant in Campinas to the species M. arenaria. Variety Abura was severely attacked by the species M. javanica, M. arenaria and M. incognita. M. hapla was present in roots of soybean (var.?) cultivated in Terra Roxa.
