Abstract
The perineal region of the adult female found in root galls of cotton plants from Ribeirão Preto showed the parasite Meloidogyne incognita. Other plants, Rubim (Leonotis nepetaefolius Bth.) , Juá bravo (Solanum sp), Beans (Phaseolus vulgaris I.), Geranium (Pelargonium sp) e Abutilon sp are hosts of this organism. The native plants that host this parasite are permanent foci of .infestation. Eggs, larvae and adults are carried to new cultures by heavy shower of rain and by other ways of locomotion,
