Abstract
A culture medium for presumptive identification of enteric Gram-negative rods was studied. The base stands on production of indol, L. tryptophane deaminase, acid or acid and gas from glycose and saccharose, urease, H2S and on the aspect of the bacterial growth. The lactose, usually employed as substract for the differentiation of the E. coli, was substituted by the gas-indol reactions. It was also employed the reaction of L. tryptophane deaminase for differentiation of members of Providence group.
