Abstract

The aim of the present study was to evalute the influence of perchloric acid concentration and temperature at the precipitation step on the determination of mucoproteins. Our results showed that the increase of perchloric acid concentration as well as of the temperature produce underestimated values of serum mucoproteins. Duto the clinical significance of the mucoproteins dosage for the accompaniment of patients with infectious diseases and metabolic disturbances, it is required a detailed control of externa! factors which can interfere on its quantification.
