Abstract

The sensitivity of male Drosophyla melanogaster flies to organochlorine pesticides is greater than that of the female. The least detectional concentrations (by Petri dish biological test) of 15 organochlorine pesticides were: Aldrin, Dieldrin, Endrin, Heptachlor and Lindane up to 2.0 ug/ml; HBC and Chlordane up to 0.5 ug/ml; Endosulfan up to 1.0 ug/ml; DDT, TDE and Toxaphen up to 10 ug/ml; Methoxichlor up to 30 ug/ml; DDE, Mirex and Strobane were not detected up to 500 ug/ml.
