Abstract

Since 1975, when we discovered at the Instituto Adolfo Lutz (Laboratório I de Taubaté) the first focus of Biomphalaria straminea, located in the municipality of Cruzeiro, Vale do Paraíba, State of São Paulo, dically examined samples of this species of planorbideo, without ever having found them. housing cercariae of Schistosoma mansoni.
