Abstract

82 strains of enteric bacteria isolated from several species of Brasilian rnammalians encountered in most wooden regions of Botucatu, were screened for drug resistance. The selection of the strains was carried out by it's levels resistance to sulphadiazine, to Kanamycine sulphate, to chloramphenicol, to cephalotin, to hetacylin, to tetracycline, and to streptomycin sulphate.: At various concentrations employed, it was possible to check distinctives strains populations, one drug resistant and 'other drug sensitive. Relatively to streptomycin sulphate it was founded only one sensitive strain population. Finnaly, 'it was observed that 29 E. coli strains, 27 Proteus sp.strains, and 2 Salmonella sp.strains appeared to be only sulphadiazine resistant.
