Abstract
The classical trichromic method of Masson for diferential staining of tissue elements was simplified by substitution of Ponceau 2R for Ponceau 3R and substitution of Harris'hematoxylin for Regaud's hematoxylin. Use of picrid acíd, iron alumen and heating of solutíon's reagent was spared. The time spent in staining was apprecíably reduced and appearence of tíssue structures was improved. Repeated testing showed that the modifications proposed are feasible.
