Abstract

One hundred soil samples from regions along Chama River were studied. The samples were taken from places presenting different wheather conditions and several types of soil. Type A Closiridium botulinum was found ín three samples from El Vigía and type B was found in two samples from the neighborhood of Ejido and Estánquez. The fact that both human and animal botulism were never reported in the country can be laid to diagnostic failures and its investigation ín deseases with cornpatíble symptomatology is suggested.
