Abstract
Using Celogel electrophoresis, the authors analised the electrophoretic profile of saliva proteins of Rhoâniue prolixus and Triatoma braziliensis
from Venezuela and Ceará, Brazil, respectively. Four protein bands were found in
the saliva of the Triatoma braziliensis and five in the saliva of Rhodnius prolixus.
The intense colou r of the bands suggests the presence of other protein fractions,
not evident due to the limitations of the method of separation employed.
