Abstract

Test for irritation of the skin showed that tar-containing shampoos provoke dermal irritation, drying of skin and prevent normal growth in guinea-pig skin. These anormality were observed in treated animals, The tested shampoos were those commercially avaiable for treatment of seborrheia, psoriasis, dandruff and for protection of the scalp, The well known carcinogenic properties of tar  re recalled.
