Abstract
From december 1975 to january 1977, 380 samples of powdered organic products were bacteriologically examined after concentra tion of the sample. The 300 samples of powdered beef meat yielded 118 strains of Salmonella sp. belonging to 23 serotypes. S. eef ienberç and S. oranienburg represented, each, 14% of the total; S. anatum, 12% and S. agona, 8%. Powdered-blood meal showed 21% of contamination by Salmonella sp. The 68 samples of powdered beef blood yielded 15 strains belonging to 5 serotypes; S. agona was in 40% of the total; S. anatum in 20% and S. infantis in 13%. Of the 8 samples of powdered feathers, 3 were contamined by S. bornum, S. oranienburg and S. agora. No salmonellas were
isolated from the 4 samples of powdered fish.
