Abstract

A comparison was made of three procedures for de.termination of the fluorine content of 10 sa mp les of drinking water obtained from natural fountains. A colorimetric procedure using the SPADNS 4,5-dihydroxy-3- (parasulfophenylazo ) -2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid trisodium salt) reagent, a titulometric method with thorium nitrate and a potentiometric procedure using a sp ecia l iluoride electrode were tested. Thc first two methods were a lso tested after previous distillation of the sample for elimination ai' interfering substances. No appreciable difference arnorig the methods was found.
