Abstract
Generalized infestation by Strongyloides stercoralis was described in two children suffering from severe malnutrition. Autopsy revealed marked atrophy of the thymus and peripheric thymus-dependent lymphoid organs as well as the presence of larva e and adult females in the intestinal mucosa and lumen. Larvae were also found in sections of the peritoneum, lymph nodes, lung, liver, spleen and pancreas.
