Resumen

A Doença Mão-Pé-Boca (DMPB) é uma afecção exantemática viral
aguda, usualmente autolimitada, causada por enterovírus humanos
não-pólio. Fatores ambientais, socioeconômicos e imunológicos
proporcionam a circulação dos enterovírus de modo sazonal. Surtos
da DMPB são frequentes em crianças menores de cinco anos. Durante
a circulação dos agentes etiológicos da DMPB, particularmente por
ocasião dos surtos, quadros clínicos mais graves podem ocorrer como
meningite, encefalite, paralisia flácida aguda, miocardite, pericardite,
pancreatite, alterações do sistema nervoso autônomo e mais raramente
falência cardiopulmonar e óbito. Este documento traz orientações
relativas à etiologia, epidemiologia, quadro clínico, diagnóstico,
tratamento, medidas de controle e manejo dos surtos de DMPB, no
sentido de subsidiar as ações dos profissionais de saúde da assistência e
da vigilância epidemiológica do estado de São Paulo.
