Abstract

MICROWAVE OVEN EFFECT ON THE DESTRUCTION OF AFLATOXINS ON PEANUTS : Samples ofpeanuts artifieially contaminated with aflatoxin B, e G1 were uscd in this study determine the effeet ofheating using a mierowave oven (high power-O,8 kW) for 3 to 6 minutes. The aflatoxins were quantified by thin layer ehromatography (TLC) using a visual comparation with standards. The results showed a rcduction of41 ,52 to 69,56% in the aflatoxin B, e G,levels in roast pcanuts samplcs for 6 minutes.
