Abstract
Sulphamethoxazole and trimethoprim were determíned in 172 samples of pharmaceutical products. The samples were in tablet or suspension form for adult and child use and were collected in drugstores from São Paulo City. Official methods as well as adapted procedures were employed. It was found that an average of 100/0 of the samples showed content lower than that claimed in their formulas.
