Abstract
The authors checked through the indirect immunofluorescence test for diagnosis of toxoplasmosis, samples of 270 blood donors from different blood banks in São Paulo, to obtain source of "accessory facto r" . They verified high incidence of reagents, mainly when compared with previous findings obtained by Nussenzweig in 1957 in our environmente, who found 28,74% of incidence of non reagents in blood donors, while in this paper is reported only 4,08% of non reagents, so as the íncidence of high titers was greater. Critical and comparative studies with similar investigations done ín Roma, São Paulo and Belo Horizonte, were made.
